The Bureau is a world leader in understanding tropical cyclone
behaviour and the SSU provides access to that expertise. You can
make sure that the tropical cyclone management strategy operates
on the latest and best advice available.

for cyclone development.
- Detailed site specific warnings are issued every three to six
hours during events.
- Detailed briefing by our experts.
- Dedicated web site for clients is set up which includes a host
of additional weather information, plus interim warning updates
and high resolution satellite images.
The Bureau uses state of the art third generation wave model (WAM)
to assist in forecasting seas and swells in the Australian region.
The model is updated twice daily.
Direct model output can be derived from the WAM model for specific
locations and including spectral format.
